Bethany Seminary announces that Elizabeth Keller, director of admissions, is resigning as of November 25, 2011. A master of divinity graduate of Bethany in 2008, she began serving the Seminary as interim director of admissions during her final year of study in 2007-2008. She has held the position of director of admissions since July 1, 2008.
Elizabeth describes her time of study and ministry at Bethany as having been transformative. “After a year of prayerful preparation, I feel clearly called to focus and extend my gifts for the empowerment of girls and women and to create sacred spaces so that they know they are fully human, fully worthy, and fully affirmed for their place in the world and church,” she said.
During Elizabeth’s tenure, semiannual Campus Visit Days were established, giving many prospective students the experience of campus life, and admissions promotional and resource materials were expanded and updated. The Seminary also experienced its largest incoming class in more than a decade during the fall of 2009.
“In the four years Elizabeth has served as director of admissions, she has developed relationships with hundreds of prospective students, encouraging them to awaken to God's calling in their lives,” said Brenda Reish, executive director of student and business services. “She has brought a variety of skills and artistic vision to the ministry of admissions as she herself embodied God's call.”
