Elizabeth J. Keller of Richmond, Ind. has been named Director of Admissions for Bethany Theological Seminary beginning July 1, 2008. She has served as Interim Director of Admissions since August 2007.New Director of Brethren Academy Named
Bethany Celebrates One Hundred Third Commencement
Bethany Theological Seminary celebrated its one hundred third commencement on May 3, 2008. Two observances marked the occasion. A ceremony for conferring degrees took place in Bethany’s Nicarry Chapel. A public worship celebration was held at the Richmond Church of the Brethren.
Bethany Calls New Professors, Interim Academic Dean
Bethany Theological Seminary has called H. Kendall Rogers as Professor of Historical Studies, beginning in the 2008/2009 academic year. Dr. Rogers has served as a professor in the Religion and Philosophy department at Manchester College, North Manchester, Ind., for thirty years. He is a Manchester College graduate, and holds B. A. and M.A. degrees from Oxford University in England and M.A. and Ph. D. degrees from Harvard University.
Bethany Will Observe Sabbatical Day
Richmond, Indiana–Bethany Theological Seminary will observe a sabbatical day on Thursday, May 8. All employees will participate in the sabbatical day and the offices will be closed. The sabbatical day was approved by the Board of Trustees at their spring meeting.

Teaching and Administrative Appointments Announced for 2008 - 2009 Academic Year
Bethany Theological Seminary has called Joshua Brockway, a graduate of Manchester College (2001), Bethany Theological Seminary (M.A. 2004) and Candler School of Theology (M. Div. 2007) to a one-year half-time position in Brethren Studies during the 2008-2009 school year. He has served the Church of the Brethren in many leadership capacities including as a resource person for the recent Ministerial Leadership Consultation in May 2007. He will be teaching both on the Richmond campus and online courses. Joshua is currently a Ph.D.

Increased Accessibility Approved for Bethany Theological Seminary’s Connections Program
Richmond, Indiana—A new orientation structure approved for Connections, Bethany Theological Seminary’s distance education program for the Master of Divinity degree, will greatly reduce the initial on-campus time commitment for students pursuing their graduate studies from a distance. An intensive weekend retreat, followed by Bethany’s two-day orientation, will replace the two-week August class that previously served as entry into the program.
