Rieman Memorial Service Live Webcast

(--Update as of 1/3/09: David Sollenberger will make DVDs available. See below.)

Thank you for visiting the Rieman Memorial webcast site. We estimate that there were over 500 people at the Northview Church of the Brethren for the Memorial Service Dec 31, and nearly as many participating online.

Recordings of the webcast of the service are available for you to view now from this site (links below). Again, our apologies to those who were not able to view the service live because we ran out of viewing capacity... we hope that these recordings will still help you participate.

Note: As the service was nearly 3 hours long, you have the option to watch it in segments with this recording. To watch part now and part later, please click the link to the recording, and while in the recording you may cue to a particular time of the recording (for example, you may skip to one hour into the service by sliding the indicator at the bottom to 1:00:00).

--Update as of 9:45pm on Wed 12/31/2008... Adobe servers are being overloaded by our requests to view the recording, and so the recording may take a very long time to load. If you are encountering problems, please try again later. Thank you for your patience... and again, our apologies for the limitations we have encountered! (Please realize that we have recorded nearly 3,000 hits on this page in the last 48 hours, and the Adobe servers have responded to over 500 visits to see the live webcast. Obviously, Phil and Louie had a far greater impact than any of us knew.) -Enten

--Update as of 9:45pm on Thu 1/1/2009... The servers are still at capacity during peak viewing times. If the recording does not load within a minute or so, please try again later.

--Update as of Mon 1/5/2009... The servers still reach capacity during peak viewing times. If the recording does not load within a minute or so, please try again later. We have recorded nearly 4,000 requests for this web page to date.

UPDATE: DVD OF THE SERVICE -- There have been many requests for a DVD of the Memorial Service, from those who do not have as reliable an internet connection to those who wish to have a copy of the service. Original Live Webcast Information

Phil and Louie Rieman were killed in a tragic car accident the morning of December 26, 2008. Both were graduates of Bethany Theological Seminary ('81 and '80), and served the Church of the Brethren as pastors and in the mission field.

Because they were so well loved across our denomination and beyond, we are providing a live web broadcast of their Memorial Service. The service will be Wednesday, December 31, at 11:00 a.m. EST, at the Northview Church of the Brethren in Indianapolis, where Phil and Louie were pastors. This webcast from the sanctuary of the Northview church will begin at approximately 10:45 a.m. EST (7:45a Pacific, 8:45a Mountain, 9:45a Central, 4:45p in Nigeria, 6:45p in Sudan).

All that is needed to view the service live is a computer with an internet connection. Simply follow the directions below to see and hear the service in your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, or others).

Update - Later Viewing: Some who cannot be available at the actual time of the service have asked about viewing it later. Therefore, we will record the webcast and try to make a link available here by later on Wednesday, so that the recording can be seen over the web. Please come back to this page for more information as it is available. (Thank you for your patience as we also grieve, and may not get things set up as quickly as we would in other circumstances).
