|General description/brief summary||This position serves as office assistant for Advancement department and front desk receptionist.|
Assist the Institutional Advancement department as needed: working with the department's database, filing, mailings and other duties as assigned.
Average of three hours per week as receptionist at front desk when classes are in session, during the lunch hour, evenings and/or weekends: answering phone and transferring calls, taking messages, assisting guests entering the building, monitoring traffic in and out of the building for security & hospitality purposes, closing the building, as well as other advancement support.
Receptionist duties will be fulfilled by several persons reporting to different offices. When tasks assigned by their respective supervisors are completed, these employees will be asked to work on other clerical tasks that may be submitted by staff and faculty.
An average of two hours per week away from the front desk during regular business hours assisting with clerical duties in the Institutional Advancement department: copying, filing, computer work, gathering data, etc. that can't be done at the front desk.
Busy times of the year: November-early December, late January-early February.
Other duties as assigned.
|Skills/qualifications||Communication skills: being personable and helpful when on the phone or interacting with the public. Knowledge of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, etc. Willingness to be trained on Advancement database if needed.|
