FWS Position Listings
Below you will find a brief description of each Federal Work-Study position and the supervisor name or department for the position. To be eligible for a FWS position, current students must qualify by demonstrating financial need by completing the FAFSA [1] and Bethany financial aid application [2] by June 15. New students must submit these materials by July 15.

All jobs will have the same pay rate at $9.75 per hour. Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and interviews scheduled appropriately.
Academic Services/Business Office Assistant [4] - Deb Gropp/Sara Brann --position filled
Provide general office support for Academic Services and Business offices.
Advancement Assistant/Receptionist [5] - Monica Rice
Work front desk and provide support to various departments. Some work will be done while at the front desk.
Assistant for Electronic Communication [6] - Enten Eller --positions filled (only skilled applicants still considered)
Assist the Director of Electronic Communication in providing broadcast support for meetings, events and classes. Assist the Director of Electronic Communication in his role of webmaster with maintenance of Bethany's website. Provide weekly virtual meeting services for mixed-mode courses (currently the MA Research Seminar in the Fall and/or Ministry Formation in the Spring) as needed.
*Not all duties need be done by any one person. Interested persons may apply for just one or more of these responsibilities, although priority will be given to more comprehensive applicants. Multiple persons are desired to cover all tasks, and all assistants are expected to function as a team to address responsibilities.
Assistant for Youth and Young Adult Institute [7] - Russell Haitch
Work with Director to develop, manage and execute the mission of the Institute. Interact with local churches, Church of the Brethren offices and broader public.
Student Program Assistant for the Institute for Ministry with Youth and Young Adults [8]- Russell Haitch/Bekah Houff
Responsible for assisting with the programs of the Institute for Ministry with Youth and Young Adults, with special focus on Exploring Your Call.
Bethany AV Team Coordinator [9] - Justin O'Brien
Coordinate the Bethany AV Team in providing AV services for non-classroom events.
Community Service Positions (not linked--multiple possibilities) - Brian Schleeper

TBA. These positions will be at community service organizations like the Boys and Girls club, Girls INC., Cope Enviornmental Center, Habitat for Humanity, local schools etc. These positions will work approximately three to six hours per week.
Housekeeping Assistant [10] - Brenda Reish --position filled
Collection and disposal of trash and vaccuming of Bethany building.
Peace Studies Associate [11] - Scott Holland --position filled
Plan and administer the weekly Peace Forum. *(Not all duties must be done by the same person. Interested persons may apply for a portion of these responsibilities, although priority will be given to more comprehensive applicants.)
Peace Studies Assistant [12] - Scott Holland --position filled
Assist Peace Studies Associate with weekly Peace Forum.
Presidential Forum Event Coordinator [13] - President --position filled
Assist with all aspects of Presidential Forum

Assist Executive Assistant to the President
Receptionist Assistant [15] - Brian Schleeper
Work receptionist desk as fill in/back up person when regularly scheduled person is not available
Student Chapel Coordinator [16] - Dawn Ottoni-Wilhelm --position filled
Works with members of Patterns of Worship course to coordinate chapel services.
Student Services Assistant/Receptionist [17]- Tracy Primozich
Provide assistance and support for Admissions, Business and Student Development offices. Mailings, database and website maintenance. Some work will be done while at the front desk.
Admission-Newsletter Assistant [18] - Tracy Primozich
Assist in creating, editing, formatting, publishing and managing monthly admissions newsletter.
Social Media Assistant [19] - Tracy Primozich
Assist in creating a presence on all Bethany Theological Seminary social media outlets, including Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and the seminary Blog.
Student Services Ambassadors [20] - Tracy Primozich
Engage youth/young adults in the incarnational mission and vision of Bethany while living and learning with persons at events throughout a summer experience at various Church of the Brethren conference, events and camps. Travel is a requirement. (at least 2 positions…could be more if money/hours available)
Teaching Assistant (B-102) [21] - Dan Ulrich
Assist with classroom section of course through planning, implementing and evaluating the course. This position is for the Fall semester only.
Teaching Assistant (B-102) [22] - Dan Ulrich
Assist with classroom section of course through planning, implementing and evaluating the course. This position is for the Spring semester only.
Teaching Assistant (T-2xxW) [23] - Steve Schweitzer --position filled
Provide assistance outside of class time, especially in preparation for the course sessions. The assistant also has an opportunity to gain some experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating a graduate-level course.
Teaching Assistant (Ecclesiology) [24] - Malinda Berry/Denise Kettering
Primary role is to assist the instructors by monitoring students’ online participation, helping instructors guide online discussion, fielding basic Moodle/tech support questions, and other duties as assigned.
Work Study Assistant/Receptionist [25]- Brian Schleeper
Facilitate the filling and monitoring of Federal Work-Study jobs. Some work will be done while at the front desk.
Writing Coach [26] - Amy Ritchie
Serve as tutor to strengthen the writing skills of seminary students.
