April Vanlonden Named as New Director of Academic Services
April Vanlonden has been called as Director of Academic Services for Bethany Theological Seminary and Earlham School of Religion beginning October 19, 2009. The director functions as the registrar for both schools in liaison with Earlham College, and facilitates the cooperative academic operation of the two seminaries.
Ms. Vanlonden is a recorded Quaker minister in the Western Yearly Meeting. She currently serves as pastor of Fountain City Friends Meeting in Fountain City, Indiana, and as a mental health consultant for the Indiana Bar Association’s Committee on Civil Rights of Children, Indiana Screening, Assessment, and Treatment Pilot Project. She holds a BA degree from Indiana University and an MDiv degree from Earlham School of Religion.
"April brings strong administrative, database, and relational skills to this position in ways I believe will benefit the joint seminary communities,” said Jay Marshall, dean of Earlham School of Religion. As a seminary graduate herself, she easily understands our missions and the importance of the educational programs we offer."
