New Director of Admissions Named
Elizabeth J. Keller of Richmond, Ind. has been named Director of Admissions for Bethany Theological Seminary beginning July 1, 2008. She has served as Interim Director of Admissions since August 2007.
Elizabeth is a 2008 graduate of Bethany and a 1997 graduate of Manchester College. During her time as a Bethany stud
ent, Elizabeth served as Chapel Coordinator and as a member of the presidential search committee; as student pastor of the Northview Church of the Brethren and as a summer intern with the Seminary's Institutional Advancement office. Previously she was Director of Recruitment and Training for Heritage College, Denver, Colorado, Admissions Counselor at Colorado State University, and as Senior Admissions Counselor at Manchester College.
“I am pleased that Elizabeth Keller has accepted the appointment as Director of Admissions,” said President Ruthann Knechel Johansen. “During her year as Interim Director she has not simply drawn upon her previous experience in admissions and recruitment to identify and encourage prospective Bethany students. She has, more importantly, energetically demonstrated her passion for and commitment to theological education in the Anabaptist-Pietist tradition of the Church of the Brethren that can be transformative for students preparing for diverse forms of ministry. To this position Elizabeth brings a unique and creative vision of recruitment, seeing it as a form of pastoral and prophetic ministry to people of diverse ages, life experiences, and theological perspectives who are considering their calls to study at Bethany Seminary. We look forward to Elizabeth's continuing work on behalf of Bethany Seminary.”
