Bethany's Master of Divinity (M.Div.) program is a professional degree program designed to prepare persons for church-related ministries requiring ordination. The program combines hands-on ministry experience with classroom learning.
Twenty-seven 3-hour courses, distributed over four primary disciplines and the Ministry Formation sequence, are required for the degree. At the heart of the M.Div. Program is Ministry Formation, to which the whole curricular program contributes.
Ministry Formation is a process of learning ministry by doing ministry, featuring two supervised ministry experiences in two different ministry settings. One is a nine-month part-time ministry placement during the middler year. The other may be a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education, a full-time intern year, or a summer, extended, or prior ministry experience.
