Connections Students on Wall

Completing a Master of Divinity
through studying as part of our Online Community

Are you one of the many people God is calling into ministry who is unable to relocate to Bethany Theological Seminary for training?
  • Do you need to continue your current career while preparing to answer God's call?
  • Are you already involved in ministry, and seek to further your education while continuing to serve where God has put you?
  • Are you feeling the call to prepare for ministry, but are unable to relocate because of family or other obligations?
If so, Bethany's MDiv Connections track is designed with you in mind!

MDiv Connections students join Bethany's close-knit learning community in a rigorous and fully-accredited graduate-level education track that does not require you to relocate to earn your Master of Divinity degree. It makes it possible to earn your degree in three to six years while moving at your own pace.

A Personalized and Flexible Program that Fits Your Needs

The curriculum combines online learning in community with face-to-face intensive courses on campus. MDiv Connections students have the same choice of optional emphases as other MDiv students.

GraduatesYou have access to on-campus resources and courses as well as Connections courses offered in various formats.

In addition, traditional and block face-to-face courses can be taken at Bethany, at Bethany's Susquehanna Valley Ministry Center (PA) campus, via cross-registration with our sister schools, or even transferred in from other local seminaries.

Yes, it is possible to complete your Master of Divinity degree through Bethany without moving to Richmond!

Bekah Houff
Master of Divinity

BekahWhat is ministry? In my eyes ministry is in the pulpit, in the classroom, on the streets, your job at the post office, a local restaurant, or a coffee shop anywhere God calls you to be a ministering person. For me, this year, ministry means a non-traditional (not in a congregation) placement involving lots of administrative work as I serve the South/Central Indiana District of the Church of the Brethren as District Youth Director for the next eight months.
